Free Software
Having switched to Firefox as soon as it came out, I have a new respect for open source software. Annoyed by microsoft and the other big companies that charge a fortune for their programs, I have decided to embrace open-source, or more importantly FREE programs.
I have made this mage more of an aide memoire for me, somwhere to keep all the links for reinstallations etc... but someone might find it useful. All programs will be completely free, and not trials etc. Downloads are mainly from download.com, or google.
Firefox
Browsing is soo much better than Internet Explorer, this should definately be my first link. The program is very small, and the tabbed browsing is great.
Open Office
OpenOffice.org is both an open-source product and a project. The product is a multiplatform office productivity suite. It includes desktop applications such as a word processor, a spreadsheet program, a presentation manager, and a drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to those of other office suites. OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office. Open Office - download page
